It's no secret that I was a deeply engaged and phenomenally successful baseball owner before I found my true calling in politics. Like everything else I've ever done, I did it all on my own with no help from anyone. I'm especially proud that no public tax dollars went into building Ranger Stadium. That was probably the origin of my firm sense of fiscal restraint and responsibility that I exercise to this day.
