Driving While Gay

Bush's most reliable lapdog in Europe these days used to be Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi. Bush and Berlusconi share a love for authoritarian rule. I suspect they also share some teenie weenie deeply rooted psychological problem that lends itself to their desire for a strong, strong man to be in control.

Anyway, that close relationship was before the inept and incompentent Bush White House published the 2008 G8 media briefing book, in which Bush said Berlusconi is "regarded by many as a political dilettante who gained his high office only through use of his considerable influence on the national media..." The White House also said Berlusconi was "one of the most controversial leaders in the history of a country known for governmental corruption and vice." As one who ought to know, Bush said Berlusconi is "hated by many." Foremost among them is probably this poor bastard who was mistreated by the Berlusconi government: Danilo Giuffrida was told to repeat his driving test or have his licence suspended because of his "sexual identity disturbance, " i.e., he's gay. Mr. Giuffrida passed his test for the second time but his license was renewed for just one year rather than the usual 10 years because of his homosexuality. You know, if he was some 72 year old half senile, diaper wearing geezer, I would get the restriction, but this guy is in his 20s. This bigoted stunt cost Italian taxpayers more than $100,000.

The fact that I'm surrounded by lots of young handsome men is purely coincidental
